Monday: at 7:30 I'm already at the pool (30 minutes, it's not enough) and I return home to get my daughters up to go to school. Luckily, on Mondays I can telework. Tuesday: I don't see the girls until 6:00 p.m., when I return from work. Games, bath, dinner, story and sleep. I take the opportunity to do some stretching and yoga on the couch with some YouTube videos (15 minutes). Wednesday: After-school skating gives me an extra half hour to go for a run (45 minutes). Thursday: like Tuesday, but after the story I go out to play paddle tennis with 3 other mothers from school (60 minutes). Cold and windy days are the worst, but you have to play no matter what! Friday: the girls and I walk home from school (90 minutes). For them it's an excursion and for me... it's not enough for me and I take advantage of it when they take a bath (15 minutes) to do some elliptical (great decision, putting it in the room). Saturday: When the girls get up I'm back from running (60 minutes). Sunday: wherever we are going to spend the morning I try to get there by bike (120 minutes), they in the car with their father. And that's all my training.
A couple of times a year I can escape to do a race or even an excursion, but find time to train with work, the girls... And I need it. In April I want to participate again in Trailwalker , Oxfam Intermón's 100 km march." A sporting and solidarity challenge This is what one of the participants of the fifth edition of the Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker told us when we asked her how she trained. And she has impressed us! But you are right, you have to take time out of the woods because completing a Trailwalker requires being prepared and motivated, since it is a 100 km march in less than 32 hours in which Albania Mobile Number List teams of four people have to walk or run and reach the goal together. I participate with 3 other colleagues from work and we have almost raised the 1,500 euros necessary to participate. Last year, more than 942,000 euros were raised, which Oxfam Intermón allocated to different projects . Our team raised 2,300 euros thanks to friends and family, a sale of t-shirts and four solidarity breakfasts at work, which were a success among all the colleagues in the office. There are actually 6 participants per team, because 2 people do it as a support team and prepare pasta, drinks, spare clothes.
Smiles, hugs, many words of encouragement that help them continue one more stretch until they reach the finish line. An incredible experience! Trailwalker Barcelona Madrid with family © Xavier Bertral / Oxfam Intermón This same participant tells us that since her team was made up of co-workers, a very good atmosphere was generated. Even her HR department highlighted it as the best teambuilding activity the company had done, because even those who did not participate were enthusiastic and encouraged them a lot. Furthermore, throughout the entire route the presence of volunteers from the organization is very important. They cut fruit, distribute bottles of water and help participants with any needs so they can continue and reach the goal. It is a very good way to participate in the Trailwalker without having to travel the 100 kilometers. Much more than a career But the challenge begins long before the starting shot. And this march (in reality it is not a race because it is not competitive) has a single objective: to end hunger and poverty. The funds raised go towards changing the lives of thousands of people around the world. This year the participants of the Oxfam Intermón Trailwalker will walk to prevent, for example, women and girls in Chad from having to walk up to 5 and 6 hours to fetch water.
